Glossary
Let’s start with a few definitions so we’re all talking about the same thing.
This list will expand as I go along.
- content
Words on the page, the meat of the site, the insides - not the packaging. - css
Cascading Style Sheets is what it stands for, but some people think of stylesheets as one thing and CSS as another. It’s a document your browser can read to understand how to display the content on a page. - information architecture
The framework on which the content is hung. Sometimes called an outline - but in interactive works it encompasses geography as well as a simple list. Not just what comes before what - but what comes above and below and to either side of what. This can be completely independent of design, believe it or not. (People who are using css correctly are true believers.)
